Letterman on Twitter

By Dusty • Jun 2nd, 2009 • Category: Cool stuff

Dave Letterman, who we think beats the pants of Jay Leno, did a great bit on Twitter and “how he doesn’t get it”. Click here to watch the video. Dave was on Twitter for a while but hasn’t updated in about two years.

Scrabulous is saved!

By Niall • Aug 1st, 2008 • Category: Cool stuff

Well not quite but it is still good news for anyone who has developed a yen for wordgames via Facebook. If you’re looking to get your fix of triple word scores and disputes over proper nouns look for the app ‘Wordscraper’.
I’m still going to be useless at it but it’s all about taking part. Right?

The Twitter dilemma

By Niall • May 26th, 2008 • Category: Cool stuff, News

I’ve been toying with the idea of setting up a Twitter account but I’m not sure whether I should go for a commercial angle and tie it to PC Live! or re-activate my personal blog (something I’ve been meaning to do for a while now) and tie it in there.

Aspire G7700 PREDATOR gets nuff respect

By Niall • May 21st, 2008 • Category: Cool stuff

I’m not one to get too hung up on specs when it comes to buying PC (largely because I’m a Mac user at home) but I am a sucker for design - hence a post devoted to Acer’s new Aspire G7700 Predator.
For the fans the stats break down as follows:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 CPU
Genuine [...]

By Niall • May 16th, 2008 • Category: Blogging, Cool stuff

Gingerpixel may be queen of the photoblogger but here’s a nice entry into the fray from Barry Delaney who contacted me yesterday.
A returning migrant from New York, Barry has exhibited in Dublin at the Temple Bar Cultural Centre last December and February and focuses on found subjects around the City.
On the off chance I won’t [...]

Big news of the day

By Niall • May 15th, 2008 • Category: Cool stuff

There are a couple of things gonig on in the world this morning. For example MySpace got awarded $230m in damages from spammers, psystar are offering hackintosh computers (PCs running OSX Leopard) and 3D Camp will be taking place next week in Limerick (see below). All that gets beat by the European Space agency’s new [...]

O2 knock €100 off iPhone

By Niall • May 9th, 2008 • Category: Cool stuff, News

Well this is likely to go down like a lead balloon but it’s no surprise given the imminent annoucement of the 3G iPhone next month. Buzz is still surrounding June 9 but the good news is that those sceptics who decided to hold off until the new model appeared on the market will get their [...]

Grand Theft Auto 4 release tonight

By Niall • Apr 28th, 2008 • Category: Cool stuff

Not much in the way of a press shindig a-la Halo 3 but Gamestop branches around the country (well a few of them anyway) will be opening at midnight. There is promise of DJs and I imagine the Red Bull trucks will be around so you can get some pre-emptive gameplay under your belt.
It all [...]
